Advancing Excellence in Claims Management: Layal AlHarasha ACILA Named Young Achiever of the Year

Award winner Layal and John, CILA President 2025

We are proud to announce Layal AlHarahsha ACILA was recently named Young Achiever of the Year at the British Insurance Awards 2025, held at the Royal Albert Hall.  Sponsored by Kennedys, this honour recognises outstanding early-career professionals driving innovation and integrity within the insurance sector.

Being named Young Achiever of the Year underscores Layal’s leadership and dedication within a complex claims environment. As a Chartered Loss Adjuster at Sedgwick, Layal has handled surge events, supported policyholders, and built stakeholder trust through clarity and empathy.

What’s more, she is the first person of Middle Eastern descent and the youngest woman globally to attain Chartered Loss Adjuster status.  An inspirational milestone she honoured by wearing a traditional thobe, celebrating both her personal achievement and cultural heritage within the profession and wider industry.

“I’m proud to be the first person of Middle Eastern descent and the youngest woman globally to become a Chartered Loss Adjuster. This is just the beginning of what’s possible when we lead with intention and purpose,” Layal said, reflecting on her win.

Layal’s tribute to those who supported her journey, nominators, advisors, and industry leaders, underscores the value of shared learning and encouragement in the profession.

CILA congratulates Layal on this remarkable achievement. Her dedication to claims excellence and professional growth epitomises the values of our Institute, and signals a bold, inclusive future for loss adjusting.
