CILA EXPANDS INTERNATIONAL REACH WITH ILASA COLLABORATION

The Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Institute of Loss Adjusters Southern Africa (ILASA) to establish a framework for collaboration and benefit for members in Southern Africa. The partnership is expected to lay the groundwork for further international agreements as CILA looks to expand its international reach and relevance in international markets.

The MOU will facilitate collaboration on knowledge sharing, training and events. CILA’s new manifesto commits to increasing industry engagement and awareness to uphold the trust and efficacy of the profession and more broadly the insurance claims process. This includes increasing CILA’s reach and relevance in international markets.

CILA is a globally recognised professional body and membership organisation for claims professionals. The Institute was granted a Royal Charter in 1961.

John Bissell, CILA’s Executive Director, said:

“This MOU is a demonstration of the commitment we made in our recent manifesto to create global collaborations which help to build trust, expertise and ethics. This recognises that our members operate in all countries and territories and often transcend international boundaries particularly in major and complex claims arenas. We look forward to working with the ILASA to exchange views and co-operation on matters of common interest and to be able to serve our members locally.”  

ILASA, established in 1960, is a professional institute for loss adjusters in Southern Africa. , ILASA maintains the profession’s reputation, ensures high standards, and collaborates with role players in the insurance industry for technical and professional development.
