The CILA High Net Worth & Specie Committee is made up of individuals who are experienced in this type of claims handling and have a strong appreciation of the high net worth customer. The committee supports the development of CILA members by sharing their knowledge and experiences and by providing a window into this interesting sector of the insurance market.

Handling of Listed Buildings Losses
UK society is committed to the conservation and protection of our historical assets, with some of our buildings listed under The Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990.
Listed buildings will occasionally be the subject of an insurance claim and may require specialist repair techniques and/or planning considerations. This paper explains what a listed buildings is, when listing building consent is required and the procedures, parties and expertise involved in seeking and obtaining such consent. The paper also provides practical tips and example scenarios for loss adjusters, including working with Local Authorities and Conservation Officers.

What CAR? for high net worth homes
This presentation was delivered as part of the CILA Conference 2016 programme. The session explored the growth and development of Contractors All Risks (CAR) insurance for high net worth homes. The speakers shared their experiences of this new and evolving market, including the approach to claims and issues that can arise. Tim Carpenter of Cunningham Lindsey provided an adjuster perspective with the use of case studies.
