This presentation explains the legal definition of items and how this may apply in tenanted properties. It also considers landlord and tenant policies and the impact of leases.
The presentation was developed from a paper by Mike Weatherhead entitled “Tenants’ Fixtures & Fittings” which was written after the IRA bomb in Manchester in 1996. Mike, who is a Fellow of the Institute and Chair of the Property SIG, delivered this presentation at six regional UK locations between May 2014 and March 2016.
