The Rich History of Insurance

We invite CILA members in the early stages of their career to join us for a guided walking tour through the City’s historic Insurance District.

You’ll see centuries of risk-taking come to life – from Roman beginnings and medieval merchants to stories of fire, fraud, piracy, coffee houses and the darker sides of global trade – and gain a deeper appreciation of the industry you’re part of today.

It will offer a relaxed and engaging way to connect with the history that underpins modern insurance, and meet other CILA members keen to do the same!

Attendance is also accredited for 2 hours of CPD to support your ongoing professional development.

Intended for early-career professionals
This event is proudly organised by CILA’s Future Focus group, representing the next generation of loss adjusters and claims professionals. In keeping with the aims of Future Focus, attendance is intended for members who are early in their careers or relatively new to the insurance profession, with around five years’ experience or less intended as a general guide.
